We’re proud to share that Ady, a member of Derby Mountain Rescue Team, and his search dog Bryn have successfully qualified as an operational Lowland Rescue dog team with Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE).

Their qualification follows an intensive two-day assessment in the Brecon Beacons, where the pair worked across steep, technical ground—including the notoriously challenging Whaleback area. Their high scores and confident performance reflect the dedication and countless hours of training they’ve put in to reach this level.

Becoming an operational dog team is no small feat. It requires commitment, resilience, and the support of a wider community. We’d like to extend thanks to all those who assisted in Ady and Bryn’s training journey—particularly the volunteer dog bodies who give up their time to support the development of search dogs across the region.

With their new operational status, Ady and Bryn are now available to support searches across the Peak District and beyond, enhancing our collective capability to locate missing or vulnerable individuals quickly and effectively.

Congratulations to Ady and Bryn on this fantastic achievement—and welcome to the operational dog team community within the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation.
