At a recent regional operations meeting, teams from across Derbyshire came together to mark a special occasion—the retirement of Karen Alton from Derbyshire Constabulary, following 25 years of dedicated service in the force control room.

For the past 14 years, Karen has also served as the Mountain Rescue Liaison Officer. In this pivotal role, she has been a vital link between Derbyshire Constabulary and the county’s volunteer rescue teams. Her dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm have helped forge strong, trusted relationships between the police and the mountain rescue community—relationships that are essential to the success of joint operations in challenging and often life-saving scenarios.
